Elle est d\u00e9finie comme la plus petite vitesse qui sollicite la consommation maximale d&#8217;oxyg\u00e8ne, soit la vitesse du d\u00e9but de plafonnement de la VO2 \u00e0 la fin d\u2019un test incr\u00e9mental (effort de plus en plus difficile).<br \/>Pour un cycliste, on parle plus commun\u00e9ment de PMA, la puissance maximale a\u00e9robie, mesur\u00e9e en watts (W).<br \/>Pour un coureur \u00e0 pied, on peut aussi parler de PMA, surtout que de nombreux capteurs permettent aujourd&#8217;hui d&#8217;avoir la puissance instantan\u00e9e d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e en course \u00e0 pied! Particuli\u00e8rement int\u00e9ressant pour le trail, o\u00f9 les variations de d\u00e9nivel\u00e9 rendent difficile d&#8217;exploiter les &#8220;allures&#8221; \ud83d\ude09<br \/><br \/><strong>2) VMA\/PMA : test de terrain ou test laboratoire? \ud83d\udd2c<\/strong><br \/>\u00c9videmment, le test de terrain pr\u00e9sentera toujours l&#8217;\u00e9norme avantage de ne rien co\u00fbter, et de pouvoir \u00eatre r\u00e9alis\u00e9 tr\u00e8s facilement (test de Cooper, etc.).<br \/>La limite majeure, c&#8217;est de surestimer\/sous-estimer sa VMA (et de n\u2019apporter aucune information sur les seuils ventilatoires et l\u2019adaptation \u00e0 l\u2019effort).<br \/>En effet, un sportif d\u00e9termin\u00e9 poussera son test de terrain jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 ses limites, surestimant sa VMA. Lors d&#8217;un test laboratoire, chez ces sportifs, on observe par exemple un plateau de consommation de VO2 atteint pour une vitesse par exemple de 17km\/h, et un sportif qui arrive \u00e0 r\u00e9sister jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 19km\/h. Sur un test de terrain, on retiendrait une VMA de 19, alors qu&#8217;en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 elle est de &#8220;seulement&#8221; 17!<br \/>A l&#8217;oppos\u00e9, un sportif moins motiv\u00e9 sur un test de terrain aura tendance \u00e0 s&#8217;arr\u00eater plus t\u00f4t, sans avoir atteint le maximum de son syst\u00e8me \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique a\u00e9robie.<br \/><br \/><strong>3) VMA\/PMA et temps limite \u23f1\ufe0f<\/strong><br \/>Pour utiliser au mieux les donn\u00e9es fournies lors d&#8217;un test VO2, il est important de connaitre et comprendre certains points de physiologie.<br \/>J&#8217;invite les curieux et passion\u00e9s \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir le livre de V\u00e9ronique BILLAT, intitul\u00e9 &#8220;Physiologie et m\u00e9thodologie de l&#8217;entrainement &#8211; de la th\u00e9orie \u00e0 la pratique&#8221;.<br \/><br \/>Le temps limite \u00e0 VMA\/PMA est la dur\u00e9e maximale qu&#8217;une personne va pouvoir soutenir en courant \u00e0 sa VMA \/ p\u00e9dalant \u00e0 sa PMA. Double int\u00e9r\u00eat de ce temps limite &#8220;tlim&#8221; :<br \/>a. c&#8217;est une valeur de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence pour l&#8217;entrainement sp\u00e9cifique \u00e0 VMA\/PMA<br \/>b. c&#8217;est un crit\u00e8re d&#8217;\u00e9valuation compl\u00e9mentaire de la VO2max pour l&#8217;aptitude a\u00e9robie, plus sensible.<br \/><br \/>Il existe une grande variabilit\u00e9 interindividuelle : le temps limite moyen est de 6 minutes, et varie entre 4 et 11 minutes (chez les cyclistes, elle est plus proche des 4 minutes).<br \/>Donc pour 2 athl\u00e8tes avec la m\u00eame VMA, le temps limite peut \u00eatre totalement diff\u00e9rent, presque du simple au triple! Ce temps limite d\u00e9pend de la capacit\u00e9 lactique de chacun.<br \/><br \/><strong>4) Comment d\u00e9terminer ce temps limite &#8220;tlim&#8221; \ud83d\udd0e<\/strong><br \/>Le protocole est tr\u00e8s simple. A r\u00e9aliser \u00e0 distance d&#8217;un test VMA (oui, il faut avoir bien r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9 car c&#8217;est un test difficile consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme &#8220;maximal&#8221; &#8211; jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 \u00e9puisement!)<br \/>1. \u00e9chauffement pendant 15-20&#8242; \u00e0 60% de VMA\/PMA<br \/>2. augmentation \u00e0 VMA\/PMA en 20&#8243; maximum<br \/>3. maintenir le plus longtemps possible ! \ud83e\udd75\ud83e\udd75\ud83e\udd75 Cette dur\u00e9e d\u00e9termine votre temps limite, &#8220;tlim&#8221;<br \/><br \/><strong>5) Comment utiliser ce &#8220;tlim&#8221; pour l&#8217;entrainement?\ud83d\udcca<\/strong><br \/>Voici un protocole personnalis\u00e9 redoutable pour l&#8217;augmentation de la VO2 :<br \/>1. \u00e9chauffement : 15-20&#8242; \u00e0 50-60% VMA\/PMA<br \/>2. interval training : 5 r\u00e9p\u00e9titions de 50% tlim \u00e0 VMA\/PMA ; 50% tlim \u00e0 60% VMA\/PMA<br \/>3. r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration<br \/><br \/>Exemple :<br \/>Avec une VMA de 14,5km\/h et un temps limite tlim = 6 minutes, le programme sera :<br \/>&#8211; 15-20 minutes d\u2019\u00e9chauffement \u00e0 environ 8,5km\/h<br \/>&#8211; Interval training (50% de tlim = 3 minutes) : 5 cycles de<br \/>o 3 minutes \u00e0 14,5km\/h<br \/>o 3 minutes \u00e0 8,7km\/h<br \/><br \/>Exemple 2 :<br \/>Avec une PMA de 350W et un temps limite de 4&#8217;30&#8221;, le programme sera le suivant :<br \/>&#8211; 15-20 minutes d\u2019\u00e9chauffement \u00e0 environ 200W<br \/>&#8211; Interval training (50% de tlim = 2&#8217;15&#8221;) : 5 cycles de<br \/>o 2&#8217;15&#8221; minutes \u00e0 350W<br \/>o 2&#8217;15&#8221; minutes \u00e0 210W<br \/><br \/>Et voil\u00e0, il n&#8217;y a plus qu&#8217;\u00e0 faire chauffer les jambons \ud83e\udd20\ud83d\udd25\ud83d\udd25\ud83d\udd25<br \/><br \/>Et le fameux FTP pour les cyclistes (et particuli\u00e8rement les utilisateurs d&#8217;une c\u00e9l\u00e8bre application d&#8217;entrainement virtuel)?
